Shadowlawn Pottery

Beautiful, Practical, Durable

Beautiful as well as practical and extremely durable, salt-glaze stoneware has graced American homes since the earliest colonies. It enhanced European homes for hundreds of years previous to the settling of the New World. The delicate natural background of the clay itself highlights simple yet elegant decorative patterns. Glowing from a buffet while serving your favorite casserole or salad, snuggled on your bedside table, or standing proudly as an accent piece to brighten a dark corner, salt-glaze stoneware finds a place in any decor.

Shadowlawn Pottery welcomes you. Browse through the array of marvelous pieces created by our expert artisans. Notice the attention to fine detail and the consistent Old World craftsmanship that shines from every item. We're sure you'll agree that Shadowlawn Pottery reflects the highest quality of the potter's art.

Our pieces are microwave, dishwasher, freezer, and oven safe. Our pottery is also safe for people–we use clay that has no lead in it, and make certain that our glazes are lead-free also. Your satisfaction is guaranteed with each selection.

Unlike some other potteries, Shadowlawn does not employ presses (forms in which the clay is pressed) to make most of our items. Each piece is individually hand-thrown on the potter's wheel, then painstakingly hand-decorated. (Bunnies and Santa figurines are the only exceptions.) These time-honored processes make each Shadowlawn piece a work of art.

Our warm-hued backgrounds range from off-gray, to a beautiful pale butter, to medium terra cotta. All enhance the beautiful traditional Cobalt Blue or popular new Hunter Green decorations. Shadowlawn can also personalize items, making your choice a treasured gift.
